Job summary

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Materials Handling Engineer in Vancouver to design layouts and ensure efficient, integrated systems for client needs. You will review on-site installations, prepare procurement specs, and help manage project costs and schedules, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and clients.

The role requires an Industrial Engineering background with AutoCAD proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects while communicating clearly in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • E.I.T tracking toward P.Eng; possession is an asset.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Experience creating equipment arrangement drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interpret design criteria, standards and client requirements.
  • Strong multi-project prioritization and teamwork, with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce layouts and detailed drawings as required.
  • Review on-site installations and designs for feasibility and compliance.
  • Prepare specifications for procurement of materials.
  • Develop project cost summaries and review invoices.
  • Help develop project execution schedules.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and clients.

As a Materials Handling Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and ensuring that the equipment and processes work as an efficient, unified system, and that client time, budget, and quality requirements are met. Responsibilities
  • Design and produce layouts and detailed drawings as required
  • Review on-site installations and designs to ensure feasibility and compliance with client requirements and industry standards/regulations
  • Assist with the preparation of specifications for the procurement of necessary materials
  • Develop project cost summary and review vendor invoices
  • Assist in the development of project execution schedules
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and clients
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • E.I.T currently tracking towards P. Eng (possession of P. Eng is an asset)
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience preparing equipment arrangement drawings using AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply design criteria, industry standards and client requirements
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work efficiently within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
