A Canadian consulting engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Materials Handling Engineer to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This position involves working on multidisciplinary projects, primarily in the Mining sector, with responsibilities that include delivering design outputs and collaborating with project teams. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree and possess over 4 years of design experience in the sector. Competitive benefits and a flexible work schedule are offered.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of completing Engineering design work in the Mining sector.
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility within Canada is an asset.
  • Experience with metal/mineral processing plants and mining operations considered an asset.
  • Proven organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Experience with metal/mineral processing plants, piping, cooling systems, compression, mining operations, conveyance systems and/or pressure vessels is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Produce deliverables in line with project needs.
  • Develop design deliverables for industrial projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams and assist in proposal writing.
  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients.
  • Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates.
  • Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources.
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects.
  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies.
  • Development & implementation of budgets.
  • Partake to site surveys.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Materials Handling Engineer who will join our Mechanical Resources Team. In collaboration with the greater Energy and Resources team, this role will be called upon to assume responsibility for a multitude of multidisciplinary projects primarily in the Mining sectors. Initially this position will be taking a development role in the design of materials handling projects across Western Canada.

These skills combined with excellent business acumen will be key in growing our Western Canadian team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Participate and produce various deliverables in line with the project needs;
  • Developing and producing design deliverables on a variety of industrial projects;
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off deliverables;
  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients;
  • Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates;
  • Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources;
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects;
