Job summary

Dessert Holdings Inc. is seeking a Materials Coordinator for our London, Ontario facility. The role focuses on coordinating and expediting materials flow between production areas and ensuring inventory supports the production schedule.

You will manage pallet positioning, counts, and transfers across dry, cooler, and freezer zones, while maintaining accuracy in ERP and coordinating with 3PL partners. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education is required
• 1–3 years of warehousing/manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse management
• Experience using technology/computer systems for problem solving
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle complex problems and multi-level communication
• Able to work various shifts and extend hours when required
• Strong written and verbal communication within a team environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage material pallet positioning across warehouse zones (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Conduct daily counts of materials required 4 days out
• Assist Inventory Control with daily material reconciliation
• Direct flow of materials into the plant and route excess to offsite storage
• Post transfer order POs offsite to maintain accurate inventory
• Determine transfer volumes and execute transfers from offsite storage to plant (FIFO)
• Direct thaw/temper process for offsite materials and supervise 3PL operators
• Maintain ERP inventory accuracy for co-pack locations and coordinate WIP transfers
• Foster cooperative relationships with all departments and customers

Materials Coordinator

Dessert Holdings is looking for a Materials Coordinator in London, Ontario to contribute to the success of the Company by coordinating and expediting the flow of materials and products between various production areas and ensures material inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules and needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage material pallet positioning in all areas of the warehouse (dry, cooler, freezer)


• Conduct daily counts of materials required 4 days out


• Assist Inventory Control with daily material reconciliation


• Manage and direct flow of materials into the plant as well as divert excess to offsite storage


• Post all transfer order POs off site to keep total inventory correct


• Determine volume to transfer and execute the transfer order from offsite storage to the plant following FIFO for plant requirements


• Direct the thaw/temper process for materials offsite, and instruct 3PL operators


• Maintain accurate inventory in ERP for co-pack locations and coordinate transfers of WIP, CHEP pallets to copacker


• Establish and maintain cooperative and positive relationships with all departments and customers

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education


• Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment


• Practical knowledge of supply chain and warehouse management


• Demonstrated ability to use technology and/or computer systems for problem solving


• Excellent organizational and time management skills


• Ability to deal with complex problems and multiple levels of communication within the organization


• Able to work various shifts and extend working hours when required


• Excellent communication skills in a team environment both written and verbal
