Job summary

Prattwhitney is looking for a Material Program Manager in Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will act as a liaison to ensure efficient supply chain practices while managing material flow for assigned programs. You'll develop and manage strategies, support compliance, and drive operational excellence.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and has at least 4 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Public Service and Procurement Canada requirements is preferred.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with set onsite days.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in supply chain management.
  • Foundational knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with PSPC and DND requirements is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Military Specifications desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Overview

As a Material Program Manager, you will act as a critical liaison between Supply Chain, program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), suppliers, and customers, ensuring consistency and efficiency of supply chain practices while supporting program objectives. You will manage all aspects of material flow for assigned programs and serve as the primary point of contact for program Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to align material strategies with program objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary liaison between Supply Chain and program Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), ensuring alignment of material strategies with program objectives.
  • Develop, execute and manage the Material Program Strategy (MPS) and material program plan (MPP), driving program competitiveness and performance from inception through to contract closure.
  • Provide comprehensive Supply Chain support for internal gate process activities, ensuring compliance with the Integrated Project Development Plan (IPDP) and tailoring as necessary to meet program requirements.
  • Lead key activities including reporting, target setting, material forecasts, supplier management (e.g. Supplier Risk and Opportunity Management), evaluation of material strategies, and ensuring compliance with customer flow‑through requirements such as Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), offsets, quality, and warranties.
  • Support internal and external customer program reviews and meetings, providing comprehensive Supply Chain updates.
  • Identify and secure Supply Chain resources to support the capture plan and manage the Supply Chain content of the proposal pipeline.
  • Drive operational excellence by achieving material availability, sales, and bookings targets, directly impacting program and departmental success.
  • Make minor adjustments in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and standard processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Address and solve material‑related challenges using prior experience, standard procedures, and analytical approaches.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, external customers, and suppliers to align on program requirements and achieve goals.
  • Ensure material flow management across all assigned programs, from identification of supply chain needs to delivery and receipt.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Supply Chain policies, procedures, and supporting systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field (or equivalent training and experience).
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, with foundational knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Department of National Defence (DND) requirements and/or experience in supply chain management within the aerospace or defense industry is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Military Specifications and their impact on program compliance and performance is desired.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Commitment to obtain Raytheon Level 4 Supply Chain certification and Level 4 MPM certification (or equivalent certification such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSPC).
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
