Scope of Position

The primary objective of the Material Management Specialist role at PERI is to support and execute material planning, sourcing, steering, and distribution activities across Canada. This role plays a key part in ensuring material availability aligns with customer demand, while supporting cost‑efficiency targets. The Material Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining an effective balance between delivery performance and capital efficiency in line with business targets and strategies. Leveraging PERI’s global resources, the Material Management Specialist collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, both within PERI Canada and internationally, to support a responsive and efficient material management process that contributes to business growth and customer satisfaction. Additionally, this role supports data‑driven decision‑making by providing insights, tracking material flows, and identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational performance.

What you'll do on a typical day
  • Support the national S&OP and S&OE processes through data preparation, coordination, and active participation in planning activities.
  • Monitor and report on delivery performance, material availability, and asset management KPIs in alignment with S&OP and financial guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory planning, material allocation, and stock optimization to meet operational and customer demand.
  • Help ensure material availability in line with S&OP plans and business requirements.
  • Coordinate material exchanges within Canada and with other subsidiaries, supporting global order processes and claims handling.
  • Support tracking of investments through DAP (Digital Approval Process) and ensure alignment with S&OP plans.
  • Contribute to rental park (RP) performance tracking, lifecycle monitoring, and portfolio optimization efforts.
  • Participate in rental park portfolio reviews and support alignment with group asset management strategies.
  • Track rental park portfolio performance and provide insights for improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to group standards and guidelines within day‑to‑day operations.
  • Support performance and cost optimization initiatives, including inventory and rental park optimization.
  • Coordinate transportation activities to support timely material movement between yards and customer sites.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and global teams to support efficient material flow and operational alignment.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in Material Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management, or working with PERI products.
  • Logistics or inventory designations (CPIM, CSCP, P.Log) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration skills and a commitment to continuous learning, supporting team effectiveness and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
  • Effective communicator with ability to share insights, highlight risks or constraints, and support problem‑solving efforts. Brings a forward‑thinking and analytical approach to day‑to‑day tasks while considering the broader impact of decisions.
  • Solid understanding of material management principles, with a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to driving performance and supporting overall business success.
  • Communication skills: effectively relays oral and written information to individuals at all levels, ensuring clarity and understanding from all parties.
  • Organization: coordinates tasks, tracks details, and ensures quality and understanding.
