Job summary

EMCO Corporation is seeking a Material Handler/Back-Up Delivery Driver in Canada to pick, pack and ship orders, count and verify incoming materials, and safely operate forklift equipment. This role includes driving duties to deliver to customer and vendor locations with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college/university degree an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge.
• Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment.
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders.
• Possess a valid driver’s licence.
• A clean driver’s abstract that demonstrates good driving skills in compliance with company policy.
• Experience driving a truck and making deliveries preferred.
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing driving motor vehicles and commercial vehicles subject to Provincial Ministry of Transportation regulations.
• Understanding of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
• Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle.
• Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates.
• Able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with accuracy.
• Count, verify, receive, and put away incoming material and returns.
• Load and unload trucks; operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety; report issues to supervisor.
• Inform supervisor of inventory discrepancies and safety concerns.
• Assist teammates at the counter and with customer service.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager.
• Drive the EMCO truck to deliver to job sites and customer locations; ensure proper loading and securement.
