Job summary

Canterbury Coffee in Richmond, BC is seeking a full-time Material Handling Coordinator to manage the safe, accurate movement of materials and to act as the primary shipping/receiving function on site. You will receive, stage, ship and record materials while supporting uninterrupted production flow.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in material handling, shipping/receiving or inventory control, preferably in a food or regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years in material handling, shipping/receiving or inventory control (food/regulatory environment preferred).
  • Forklift certificate is an asset.
  • Safety and food-safety minded.
  • Experience with RFID, barcode scanners, ERP/WMS and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; highly organized and adaptable.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary shipping and receiving function on site.
  • Ensure raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are received, staged, shipped, and recorded accurately.
  • Support uninterrupted production flow across production, inventory, and distribution teams.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time Material Handling Coordinator to join our Manufacturing team in Richmond, B.C. This role is critical to the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. Acting as the primary shipping and receiving function on site, the Material Handling Coordinator ensures raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are received, staged, shipped, and recorded accurately while supporting uninterrupted production flow.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, safety-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across production, inventory, and distribution teams.

You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in material handling, shipping/receiving, or inventory control (food or regulated manufacturing environment preferred)
  • A valid forklift certificate, considered an asset
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and food safety standards
  • Experience with RFID scan guns, barcode scanners, and ERP or warehouse management systems and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Ability to work independently while remaining flexible to operational needs
