About the job
VWTS Canada Logistics team is seeking a strong candidate for the day-to-day logistics operations & warehousing activities.


The successful candidate will work directly with the Canada Warehouse Manager, CSC, PSI, Global Supply Chain, along with the extended NAM Logistics team.


This is a fast-paced job with many variables including managing conversations at various levels of the organization.


Job Description

  • Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies
  • Follow TDG guidelines for handling hazardous materials
  • Conduct regular safety checks of storage areas and equipment
  • Respond to chemical spills following emergency procedures
  • Keep spill response equipment ready and Dispose of chemical waste properly
  • Execute the receiving, storing, picking, staging and distribution
  • Store chemicals according to compatibility and safety regulations
  • Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts, forklifts or drum handling equipment
  • Pick parts products for shipments ensuring accuracy of identification and quantity
  • Create and maintain transactional inventory records using scanners and SAP ERP software
  • Maintain accurate files of packing and shipping activity
  • Communicate/notify appropriate personnel of shipping inventory discrepancies
  • Quantify and verify cycle counts
  • Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) method
  • Report discrepancies and shortages
  • Check incoming materials for damage or leaks
  • Ensure proper labeling of all materials
  • Physically and systemically receive/issue individual material requisitions from internal and external departments
  • Maintain material handling equipment
  • Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections
  • May assist in training new hires
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

**Forklift license is mandatory with minimum 3-5 years of working experience in chemical industry using
Counterbalance. **

  • High school Diploma or local equivalent
  • TDG Certification
  • 3-5 years’ experience in storing and material handling
  • Demonstrate ability to read, write and speak in local language
  • Proficient in basic mathematics
  • Ability to communicate well and work with others
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Ability to consistently lift
  • Skilled in forklift driving experience with handling multiple types of packages
