Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Stores and Inventory Control, the Aircraft Material Handler is responsible for handling and issuing all aircraft material, maintaining accurate inventory records, and managing shipping and receiving functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform transactions of aircraft parts and tools using the electronic inventory system (AMOS).
- Assist Maintenance, Inventory Control, and Planning by picking and issuing aircraft parts for overnight work packs.
- Liaise with Technical Records to resolve discrepancies with unserviceable material.
- Ship aircraft material domestically and internationally, including Dangerous Goods shipping, via courier services such as Purolator, FedEx, DHL.
- Coordinate the expedited shipping of urgent AOG aircraft material to outstations in the network.
- Manage shipping of Company Material (COMAT) to/from all outstations on-board our aircraft.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and pallet trucks.
- Arrange local pick-ups/drop-offs with couriers or other methods after hours.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as required.
- Deliver time-sensitive aircraft material to the Ramp Maintenance Line Office or aircraft on the gate.
- Receive urgent AOG aircraft material arriving after hours in AMOS.
- Work closely with Receiving Inspectors, Tooling & Logistics Coordinators to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in Porter’s Safety Management System, report hazards and incidents, and promote safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications
- Proficient in Google or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Dependable with a reliable attendance record.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clear communication in English.
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP) within 6 months.
- Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
