About the job

The VWTS Canada Logistics team is seeking a qualified candidate for daily logistics operations and warehousing activities.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Canada Warehouse Manager, CSC, PSI, Global Supply Chain, and the extended NAM Logistics team.

This role involves a fast-paced environment with various variables, including managing communications at different organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies.
• Follow TDG guidelines for hazardous materials handling.
• Conduct safety checks of storage areas and equipment regularly.
• Respond to chemical spills according to emergency procedures.
• Maintain spill response equipment and dispose of chemical waste properly.
• Handle receiving, storing, picking, staging, and distribution of materials.
• Store chemicals safely according to compatibility and safety regulations.
• Move materials physically using handcarts, forklifts, or drum handling equipment.
• Pick parts for shipments, ensuring accuracy of identification and quantity.
• Create and maintain inventory records using scanners and SAP ERP software.
• Maintain accurate shipping and packing records.
• Notify appropriate personnel of inventory discrepancies.
• Perform cycle counts and rotate stock using FIFO.
• Report discrepancies and shortages.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or leaks.
• Label all materials properly.
• Process material requisitions from internal and external departments.
• Maintain material handling equipment and conduct pre-shift inspections.
• Assist in training new hires as needed.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• TDG certification.
• 3-5 years' experience in storing and material handling, particularly with counterbalance forklift operation in chemical industries.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in the local language.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift regularly.
