Job Overview

The Material Handler, in accordance with standard practices and procedures, is responsible for keeping HHF Rotomac supplied with aluminum coil stock and packaging material, and for removing finished goods without restricting the production process. The incumbent must adhere to all corporate health, safety, and environmental practices and must be skilled in operating fork trucks and automatic equipment safely.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure uninterrupted production by supplying aluminum coil stock and packaging materials, and removing empty cores from pay-off to accommodate new coils.
2. Use barcode systems for all metal transactions, weigh and record aluminum coils as required.
3. Tag, date stamp, scan, wrap, and transport finished goods to storage areas.
4. Bale scrap using manual baling equipment and remove scrap from lines.
5. Respond quickly to production requests from operators, lead-hands, or Supervisors.
6. Operate motorized vehicles (fork trucks, pump trucks, tow motors, clamp trucks) safely and efficiently.
7. Maintain good housekeeping practices and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
8. Interact professionally and courteously with Lead Hands, Production Supervisors, other Material Handlers, and office staff.
9. Perform tasks based on well-known company practices and procedures.

Job Requirements

No formal schooling is required, but the candidate must understand inventory control, operate motorized vehicles, and recognize health and safety hazards. Ability to perform intermediate clerical tasks, including barcode system operation, is essential.

Must be available for all shifts.

Minimum 5 years of experience operating forklift trucks and automatic equipment, with 3 years on Raymond reach and counterbalance trucks.

Compensation

CAD $23.53 per hour.
