Job summary

Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems is seeking a Material Handler for our Maple Ridge fabrication shop. This full-time role supports the Logistics Leadhand by ensuring materials are available in a timely manner to meet deadlines.

You will unload trucks, move inventory, verify orders, manage inventory, and assist with delivery scheduling. Strong communication, forklift experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• Warehouse/Shipping experience required.
• Forklift tickets required or in place.
• Clear written and verbal communication essential.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Shop-specific software experience a plus.
• Plumbing/mechanical knowledge is an asset.
• Able to work in a team environment and multitask.
• Proactive and dependable with safety awareness.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming items and route them to designated areas to maintain workflow.
• Unload trucks and move material to designated areas.
• Confirm orders on arrival and report shortages promptly.
• Maintain inventory control and accuracy.
• Continuously seek process improvements for the team.
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
• Coordinate material pick-ups and deliveries with care.
• Collaborate with Inventory Control Manager on delivery schedules.

Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems (PMP) has been a leader in the plumbing and mechanical industry for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on being a family-owned and operated company. We specialize in pre-fabrication, modular systems and installation of large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and medical design-build plumbing and mechanical projects.

We are growing and looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player to join us as a Material Handler at our fabrication shop in Maple Ridge. This is a full-time employment opportunity.

Reporting to the Logistics Leadhand, the Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that all personnel have the materials they need, in a timely fashion, in their designated areas to complete all assigned deadlines.

Specifically, The Material Handler Is Responsible For

• Receive incoming items and send them to designated areas to maintain workflow throughout the shop
• Unloading trucks and moving material to designated areas
• Confirm received orders have arrived correctly and contact if short
• Inventory control
• Constantly strive to improve processes for the team
• Performs other duties as required
• Coordinate material pick-ups and deliveries
• Work with the Inventory Control Manager on Delivery Schedules

Skills & Requirements

• Warehouse and/or Shipping & Receiving experience is required.
• Previous construction and/or plumbing experience is considered an asset.
• Variable reach forklift and regular forklift tickets required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally is a must.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products is required.
• Ability to learn shop-specific software would be an asset.
• Product knowledge of plumbing & mechanical components is considered a strong asset.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Able to multitask and prioritize.

Compensation:

$28.75 to $36.50/h (DOE)+ 5% RRSP + Heath & Dental Benefits (100% Company-Paid) + LTD + AD&D + Life Insurance.
