Job summary

SLEEGERS Engineered Products Inc. in London, Ontario, is seeking a highly organized Material Handler to support production by moving materials, stocking parts, and feeding cells with needed items.

A strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork under tight deadlines will define success in this role. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in material handling, familiarity with steel/metallurgy, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Two+ years material handling experience, preferably in production.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient with inventory management and JPFS/ERP systems.
• Valid driver’s license and basic computer skills.
• Commitment to quality, health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with equipment.
• Operate forklift and other industrial equipment as needed.
• Store received materials in correct locations.
• Read engineering drawings to identify components and parts.
• Supply production cells with required parts and materials.
• Manage inventory and assist with cycle counts.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve discrepancies.

The Opportunity

We are actively recruiting for an existing vacancy a highly organized Material Handler to join us at SLEEGERS. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and development of SLEEGERS by moving materials to support production needs. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or equipment
• Using a forklift and other industrial equipment, as needed
• Putting received materials in their proper storage location
• Reading and interpreting engineering assembly drawings to identify and differentiate fabricated components and machined parts
• Supplying production work cells with required parts and materials, as specified by the job file
• Inventory management (kitting components for jobs)
• Working collaboratively with Engineering and Supply Chain to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies

The Ideal Candidate

• Has at least two years of material handling experience, preferably in a production environment
• Steel and metallurgist, and heat code experience an asset
• Experience in material test reports and traceability
• Is computer literate
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Has excellent time management skills and can effectively prioritize and work under tight deadlines
• Understands the importance of our high degree of product quality and compliance to health and safety standards
