Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H Milling) in Springbrook, Alberta, is seeking a Material Handler to join our team. This role handles packaging and transferring finished products within the warehouse and supports daily operations in the mill.

The ideal candidate has general labour experience in manufacturing, is able to operate a forklift with a valid license, and can safely lift 25 kg bags while following all safety procedures and shift schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous general labourer experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Forklift operation and a valid forklift license
• Physically able to lift 25 kg bags
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solving
• Willing to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends
• Able to work in dusty/high temperature/outdoor conditions

Responsibilities

• Package finished product into totes or bags with correct weight
• Prepare documentation and labels for production and shipping
• Weigh, load and unload trucks with product (wheat, flour, millfeeds)
• Track inventory of finished product in the warehouse
• Maintain a clean work area and perform sanitation duties
• Follow SOPs and complete required reports (BRCGS, HACCP, Food Safety)
• Participate in fumigation/heat treatment cleanup
• Complete health, safety and food safety training
• Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Material handler to join our P&H Milling team. This role is responsible for packaging and transferring finished products within the warehouse as well as providing support to daily operations within the mill.

Day to Day

• Package finished product into totes or paper bag containers, ensuring product is distributed into packaging at the correct weight.
• Prepare and complete required documentation and labels for production and shipping.
• Weigh, load and unload trucks with product including wheat, flour, Millfeeds and Feed Mids.
• Track inventory of finished product in the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform sanitation duties within the plant including sweeping and vacuuming.
• Comply with all related Standard Operating Procedures and complete all required reports according to BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Program.
• Participate in fumigation/heat treatment cleanup.
• Complete and comply with all health, safety and food safety training relating to the job.
• Perform other operations duties as required and assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience in a general labourer position.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a valid Forklift license.
• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solvingskills.
• Reliable and dependable with an ability to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends as require.
• Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions
