Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is hiring a Material Handler for its Hanover flour mill. The role involves packaging finished products, handling duties in the mill, and overtime on weekends as required.

You will work in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Applicants should be physically fit to lift 25 kg and hold a forklift license if possible.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a general labourer position.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable and dependable with ability to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Package finished products into totes or paper bag containers, ensuring correct weight.
• Distribute products to designated warehouse locations and maintain production documentation.
• Labeling, production and shipping documentation, and loading/unloading trucks with products.
• Weigh, load and unload trucks with products including wheat, flour, Mill feeds and Feed Mids.
• Conduct inventory of flour packaging materials and maintain a clean work area.
• Perform sanitation duties and comply with SOPs, HACCP and Food Safety programs.
• Participate in fumigation/heat treatment cleanup and health, safety, and training requirements.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Material Handler to join our P&H Milling team. This role is responsible for packaging finished product as well as performing various general labour duties within the Mill. Ability to work overtime on weekends and extended shifts is required.

Day to Day

• Package finished products into totes or paper bag containers, ensuring product is distributed into packaging at the correct weight.
• Responsible for production documentation, labelling and for distributing products to designated locations within the warehouse.
• Prepare and complete required documentation and labels for production and shipping.
• Weigh, load and unload trucks with products including wheat, flour, Mill feeds and Feed Mids.
• Conduct inventory of flour packaging materials.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform sanitation duties within the plant including sweeping and vacuuming.
• Comply with all related Standard Operating Procedures and complete all required reports according to BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Program.
• Participate in fumigation/heat treatment cleanup.
• Complete and comply with all health, safety and food safety training relating to the job.
• Perform other operations duties as required and assigned.

• Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions
