Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is seeking a Wheat Receiver for our Springbrook Milling operation in Alberta. The role involves handling daily movement of wheat and ensuring quality verification as part of a hands-on, entry-level position within P&H Milling.

You will work in a bustling milling environment, receive wheat via multiple modes, monitor inventory, maintain equipment, and support sanitation and maintenance tasks while adhering to safety and procedural standards.

Qualifications

• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and solve problems.
• Reliability and ability to work shift work, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Take wheat samples for quality verification on all deliveries.
• Receive wheat at the mill by truck, rail, vessel or transfer from Grain Elevator.
• Monitor wheat inventory at the plant.
• Maintain intake equipment in good working condition.
• Maintain records and documents according to procedures.
• Cover shifts in the mills as required.
• Support sanitation per cleaning schedule.
• Assist in preventative maintenance in mills.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakers, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Wheat Receiver to join our P&H Milling team. This role will be responsible for all tasks and processes relevant to the daily movement of wheat and cleaning. This is an entry level position into the Mill.

Day to Day

• Taking wheat samples for verification of quality on all deliveries of wheat.
• Receive wheat at the mill by truck, rail, vessel or transfer from Grain Elevator
• Monitor wheat inventory at the plant.
• Ensure the wheat intake equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
• Maintain records and documents in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Cover shifts in the mills, as required.
• Sanitation as per cleaning schedule.
• Assisting in preventative maintenance in mills

What You’ll Bring:

• Previous experience in a general labourer position.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solvingskills.
• Reliable and dependable with an ability to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends as require.
• Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions
