Job summary

Weir Canada, Inc. is hiring a Material Handler in Elliot Lake, ON, onsite with a 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift and overtime opportunities.

You will load, unload, and move materials to support production, while ensuring safety and accuracy in a fast-paced facility. Responsibilities include inventory management using SAP, staging and picking items, assisting fabrication with cutting and measuring materials, and contributing to a high-standard safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Forklift operation experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret job cards, instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Strong hands-on skills with tools for cutting and measuring materials.
  • Experience collaborating in a team-oriented environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts and move materials around the facility to support production.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory locations and input material movements into SAP.
  • Fabrication Support: Cut and measure wood and fabric for packaging using hand tools.

Material Handler Location - Elliot Lake, ON Work Arrangement - Onsite, Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Overtime available

What you’ll do
  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials accurately and safely around the facility, ensuring timely support to production teams.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory locations, enforce quarantines and material hold points, and input material movements into SAP to keep inventory current and support production needs.
  • Fabrication Support: Cut and measure wood and fabric products for packaging using hand tools such as saws, drills, and air guns, supporting shop staff with precise material preparation.
  • Production Support: Understand daily production requirements, stage and pick items accurately under supervision, and ensure materials are delivered promptly to meet operational demands.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

  • Forklift operation experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to read and interpret job cards, instructions, and safety procedures accurately.
  • Strong hands-on skills with tools for cutting and measuring materials safely and precisely.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance and hazard recognition in a warehouse or production setting.
  • Basic math skills including algebra and geometry for practical problem solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented culture with a positive attitude.
