Job description

As part of the Marketing and Festival teams, you will oversee all aspects of the marketing of concerts, festivals, and events for the Ottawa region, with a strong focus on promotions and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the execution of festivals, concerts, and events, both self-promoted and partnered, as assigned.
  2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with partners, clients, media, and industry professionals.
  3. Negotiate, develop, and implement marketing plans in collaboration with our Advertising Services department and external/internal partners.
  4. Create, manage, and coordinate marketing campaigns for paid, organic, and promotional purposes.
  5. Negotiate and execute promotional initiatives with media and sponsors; assist during events and festivals.
  6. Coordinate advertising initiatives and publicity strategies for live events.
  7. Work with partners on sales timelines and budgets.
  8. Oversee media and marketing elements on-site during festivals and events.
  9. Assist with publicity strategies in partnership with the Communications team.
  10. Develop and implement social media marketing plans alongside traditional media promotions.
  11. Collaborate with team members to develop pitches for artists and partners.
  12. Participate in special event projects and perform other duties as required.

What This Person Will Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or the music industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of advertising and promotional principles.
  • Effective listening, understanding, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Knowledge of social media best practices.
  • Ability to follow directions and show initiative.
  • Creative thinking and self-motivation.
  • Interest in various music genres and live events.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • A positive attitude with integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
