Job summary

Southwire Canada is offering a summer internship/co-op in Mississauga to connect academic learning with hands-on marketing experience. You will contribute to campaigns, content creation, and analytics alongside a collaborative marketing team.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications degree.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing content for marketing campaigns, social media, email newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.
  • Support creation and editing of marketing materials including presentations, flyers, and product sheets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on promotional campaigns and product launches.
  • Help manage updates to various company online platforms.
  • Assist in tracking campaign performance metrics and preparing reports.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new marketing ideas and strategies.
  • Support event planning, logistics, and execution for tradeshows, webinars, or internal events.
  • Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned.

The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to provide valuable experience to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher. Our goal is to give students meaningful work that builds on what they are learning in the classroom. Our programs are project based. Students will receive a project at the beginning of the summer and present it in our project expo at the end of the summer. Program Description

The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with “real world” applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.

Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

Program Details
  • Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks
will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.
  • You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational
leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves.
  • You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and
offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service /volunteer initiatives.
  • You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to
a world-class program community.
  • Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities.
Position Description

This position will support the Marketing team by contributing to projects that build brand awareness, strengthen customer engagement, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn about various aspects of marketing.

The student will support strategic Marketing and IT projects related to data governance, analytics, and digital transformation. Key responsibilities will include assisting with Salesforce and CRM data management, marketing database governance, campaign performance reporting, ContractorConnect and digital platform analytics, dashboard creation, data cleansing and validation, and business process documentation. The student will work across departments to improve data quality, generate insights that support sales and marketing initiatives, and enhance reporting capabilities to drive informed business decisions across Southwire Canada.
