Job summary

Southwire Company Canada is seeking a Marketing intern to support the Marketing team on campaigns, data governance, analytics, and digital transformation. You will gain real-world exposure by working on Salesforce CRM data management, campaign performance reporting, and dashboard creation.

This paid internship runs roughly 10–12 weeks (summer rotation) with mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to product launches and events.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Communications.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or other relevant tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing content for various marketing campaigns, social media, email newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.
  • Support creation and editing of marketing materials including presentations, flyers, and product sheets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on promotional campaigns and product launches.
  • Help manage updates to various company online platforms.
  • Assist in tracking campaign performance metrics and preparing reports.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new marketing ideas and strategies.
  • Support event planning, logistics, and execution for tradeshows, webinars, or internal events.
  • Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned.

Program Description


The purpose of Southwire’s College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and

productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with

“real world” applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment

after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of

study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.

Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

  • Program Details Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.

Position Description

This position will support the Marketing team by contributing to projects that build brand awareness, strengthen customer engagement, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn about various aspects of marketing.

The student will support strategic Marketing and IT projects related to data governance, analytics, and digital transformation. Key responsibilities will include assisting with Salesforce and CRM data management, marketing database governance, campaign performance reporting, ContractorConnect™ and digital platform analytics, dashboard creation, data cleansing and validation, and business process documentation. The student will work across departments to improve data quality, generate insights that support sales and marketing initiatives, and enhance reporting capabilities to drive informed business decisions across Southwire Canada.
