Job summary

The Consumer & Operator Insights Analyst at McCain Foods drives consumer and operator understanding for North America’s Food Service Potato and Snacking businesses. You will shape insights from surveys, syndicated data, and trend analysis to inform brand, innovation, and go‑to‑market decisions.

Based in Toronto or Oak Brook Terrace with a hybrid schedule, you will partner with Marketing, Sales and Go-to-Market teams, manage the Insights Hub, and apply AI-enabled tools to deliver actionable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2-3 years of professional work experience.
• Experience in consumer insights/market research is preferred.
• Strong curiosity about consumer and operator behavior.
• Interest in foodservice trends and brand growth.

About the role.

As theConsumer & Operator Insights Analyst, you will play a key role in helping shape the future of McCain’s Food Service Potato and Snacking businesses across North America.Reporting to the Sr. Manager, North America Insights, you will help build and champion consumer and operator insights that drive business growth. Through consumer research, syndicated data, trend analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, you will uncover meaningful insights that inform brand, innovation, and go-to-market decisions. This role is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL or Toronto, Canada, and follows a hybrid in-office schedule.

What you’ll be doing.

• Support the development of consumer and operator understanding across key foodservice channels, including FSR, QSR, Convenience Stores, and Non-Commercial segments.
• Analyze consumer surveys, qualitative feedback, and syndicated data sources to identify opportunities, trends, and business implications.
• Support execution of primary research initiatives that enable consumer-led decision making for brand building and innovation.
• Help identify and communicate consumer, category, operator, and macroeconomic trends that influence business strategy.
• Champion consumer demand space frameworks, consumer journey mapping, and operator archetypes throughout the organization.
• Maintain and manage the Insights Hub, ensuring data, reports, and learning resources are current and accessible.
• Partner with Brand Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, Go-to-Market, Sales, and other stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights.
• Build collaborative relationships with external research vendors and suppliers to ensure quality research execution and learning.
• Leverage evolving technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance research, analysis, and reporting while applying sound business judgment.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and data-driven decision making across the organization.

What you’ll need to be successful.

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-3 years of professional work experience
• Experience in consumer insights, market research, analytics, or a related field is preferred but not required
• Strong curiosity and passion for understanding consumer and operator behavior.
• Demonstrated interest in food, foodservice trends, and brand growth
• Knowledge of research methodologies including consumer journeys, segmentation, and hypothesis-driven thinking
• Strong analytical and storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into compelling business recommendations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience working with large datasets
• Familiarity with syndicated and research tools such as Circana, NPD/CREST, Technomic, and Datassential is preferred
• Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated with a growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to balance human insight and critical thinking with AI-enabled tools and technologies

The North America Insights team partners across Marketing, Sales, Go-to-Market, and Innovation functions to help drive consumer-led growth. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, North America Insights, this role serves as a key contributor in building consumer and operator understanding, supporting strategic business decisions, and enabling data-driven growth for McCain’s Food Service Potato and Snacking businesses. The team works closely with internal partners and external research suppliers to uncover insights that shape future opportunities.

Compensation Package:$58,800.00 -$78,500.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
