Join the City of Mississauga's Marinas team for the Summer 2024 season and help build a better community!

The purpose of this position is to assist in the overall operation of the City’s public Marinas, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, by-laws, and mandates. The role requires strong customer service skills and knowledge of Marina operations, with some responsibilities in Parks Operations.

Employment Period: April 27, 2025, to September 1, 2025
Employees may be assigned to any Marina location or re-deployed to different shifts based on operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate fuel dock and pump-out station, register visiting boaters, and provide custodial and maintenance duties.
  • Manage inventory control and cash handling.
  • Assist at the snack bar as needed.
  • Respond to customer needs with high-quality service.
  • Perform maintenance duties and document follow-up actions.
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent public relations and organizational skills.
  • Emergency First Aid Certification and CPR 'C' required.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Marina operations is an asset.
  • Small boat handling skills and V.H.F. radio license are advantageous.
  • Green patch CSA-approved safety boots (6"-8" covering ankles or runner style) and beige or navy blue shorts are required.
  • Availability from April to September 2025, 35-40 hours per week, weather permitting.
  • Weekend shifts and public holidays required.
  • Excellent customer service and clear communication skills required.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $19.80 - $23.53
Hours of Work: up to 40 hours/week
