Job description

Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage are required if renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid. Invinity provides an alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion, because the battery technology that works so well in our pockets doesn’t work as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limits use, and even catches fire.

Manufactured as a standardized product in a factory, Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries don’t degrade, won’t catch fire, and can be operated continuously from full charge to full discharge for 25 years. Invinity has 75 megawatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries—more than any other company in the space. We’ve deployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, supported by the UK's National Wealth Fund, some of the world’s leading institutional investors, and projects backed by major institutions including the U.S. Department of Energy and the UK Government.

A compelling product and recent funding position Invinity to grow dramatically as it addresses the global imperative for stationary energy storage. Join us as we help transform renewable energy into a stable and dependable contributor to the transition to net zero.

Invinity has operations in the UK, Canada, and the U.S., and trades publicly in the UK on AIM and AQSE and in the U.S. on OTCQX. For more information about us, visit our webpage.

As Manufacturing Team Lead for the final assembly of our Flow Battery, you’ll bring your electrical aptitude and assembly expertise to support our manufacturing team. This role involves mentoring colleagues and ensuring our cutting-edge battery systems meet performance and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Support and guide team members on the assembly line, fostering collaboration and skill-building.
  2. Collaborate with the Manufacturing & Facilities Manager to identify and resolve potential issues affecting quality, delivery targets, and safe working practices.
  3. Assemble components and products with precision, following detailed instructions and quality standards.
  4. Conduct inspections and testing of components, subassemblies, and final products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  5. Operate electrical testing equipment safely and efficiently, handle mechanical devices such as 32T overhead gantry crane, and adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with demonstrated leadership ability.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Strong collaboration skills to support and motivate a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues during assembly or testing.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to meet high-quality standards.
  • Familiarity with inline inspection processes and quality control aptitude.
  • Confidence in inspecting components and subassemblies.
  • Intermediate IT skills for documentation and process updates.

Salary range: $68,000 - $78,000 per year.

The salary for this position ranges from $68,000 to $78,000 annually and will be determined based on the interview, experience, and educational background.
