Job: Manufacturing Supervisor

Division: Weir ESCO

Location: Port Hope, Ontario(Onsite)

Rotational (days/afternoons/nights As Required)

Purpose of Role: The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) rules and regulations; executes safety, quality, and production targets using continuous improvement, process management, and PDCA to uncover issues and drive improvement throughout manufacturing operations; focused on providing quality to customers.

Key Responsibilities/Competencies:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety Culture.
  • Effectively mentor and provide direction to Team Leaders and production team members by building effective teams.
  • Works with Manager and Team Leader(s) to ensure departmental initiatives are properly deployed, implemented and sustained; establishing systematic problem solving principals and techniques; Managing Vision and Purpose
  • Plan and monitor all labor vs. production needs in your department
  • The role involves working on the production line, focusing towards finishing of product with task such as grinding, heat treatment, and welding. It requires close collaboration with the maintenance, production, and quality teams. Additionally, the candidate should have an understanding of Oracle for work orders and production planning.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an applicable career field is desired (Engineering, Business, etc.), with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership environment.
  • Previous experience leading a Unionized labor force along with leading Manufacturing production teams in a Lean Environment
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
  • The candidate should be comfortable working rotational shifts, including day shifts (7 AM to 3 PM), afternoon shifts (3 PM to 11 PM), and midnight shifts (11 PM to 7 AM).
