CQ Search Group Ltd. in Peterborough, Ontario, is recruiting a Manufacturing Supervisor for a global, industry-leading CPG manufacturing organization. This role offers the chance to lead a unionized production team in a fast-paced plant and drive daily operations.

You will coach and develop a team of 20–30 operators, partner with maintenance, quality and engineering, and champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to meet safety, quality, and KPI targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 1–2+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience supervising 20–30+ employees.
  • Previous experience working with unionized employees is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production KPIs, safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop frontline employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of approximately 20–30 unionized production operators in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, productivity, and employee performance.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Support and lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively within a unionized environment, including applying collective agreement requirements and addressing employee relations matters.
  • Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
