Job summary

Conifex in Prince George, BC seeks an experienced Manufacturing Controller to lead the finance team for sawmill and power plant operations, reporting to the CFO and partnering with operations to drive financial performance.

You will translate operational performance into financial insights, oversee budgeting and forecasting, strengthen controls, and leverage ERP/BI/AI tools to improve accuracy and timeliness of reports.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a senior accounting or finance role.
• Manufacturing finance experience with costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Proven leadership of finance teams and partnering with operations.
• IFRS knowledge and inventory costing in manufacturing.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/BI systems experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance and administrative team while partnering with sawmill and power plant leaders to translate operational performance into financial results.
• Develop KPIs and analyze costs, productivity, recovery, margins, budgets and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities.
• Own manufacturing financial reporting and planning including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close and management reporting.
• Strengthen manufacturing accounting, controls, inventory costing, reconciliations, ERP master data and audit-ready documentation.
• Lead capital and strategic financial support by evaluating capital proposals and tracking project spend.
• Advance technology by identifying opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual processes via ERP/BI/AI.
