Job summary

IEM in Vancouver is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support the development, optimization, and documentation of Manufacturing Engineering at our Vancouver facility. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to improve production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and assist in projects that enhance manufacturing operations.

The role emphasizes process support, SOP updates, time studies, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement new manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the optimization of assembly processes to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Develop and update work instructions and SOPs to ensure consistent production practices.
  • Conduct time studies and develop routings to establish standard work times and improve production planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions and process flow diagrams.
  • Support QA efforts by monitoring production processes and participating in root-cause analysis for defects or issues.
  • Contribute to engineering projects, including process validations, capacity analyses, and production trials under senior engineers.
  • Coordinate project tasks, prepare technical reports, and document project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new manufacturing technologies and process changes.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TOC improvement projects.
  • Assist in creating training programs for operators and design engineers on process curriculum.
