Job summary

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to lead manufacturing projects from concept to execution. You will plan processes, write work packages, source and estimate items, and collaborate with design engineering to optimize fabrication of nuclear equipment.

Qualifications

• College/university degree in engineering or a skilled-trade certificate.
• 0–7 years manufacturing planning experience in custom engineered equipment.
• Experience with machining, welding, assembly and materials (stainless steels, alloys).
• Experience with instrumentation, control equipment, PLCs, automation.
• Knowledge of GD&T and blue print reading.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with data analysis and spreadsheet/MRP tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute manufacturing projects of significant scope and complexity.
• Create detailed cost estimates and plan manufacturing/work packages.
• Collaborate with design engineering to align manufacturability with design goals.
• Communicate status, risks and mitigation plans to Project Management.
• Support shop floor with issue resolution and data-driven decisions.
• Coordinate QA planning to balance oversight with cost.
