Job summary

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer in Peterborough, Ontario to support design of automated and semi-automated equipment for nuclear fuel handling and related systems. The role uses AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor for concept to detail drawings and BOMs.

You will collaborate with engineers and technologists, perform design reviews, and help gather site-specific information while managing cost and schedule on projects.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology diploma.
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience required, AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor experience an asset.
• Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills understandable by a diverse audience.
• Ability to work effectively with others and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept designs into detail drawings & bills of materials using CAD packages (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor).
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment with teams of Professional Engineers and Technologists.
• Produce and update general assembly drawings, interconnection block diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Selection of instrumentation, control, and power components based on engineering requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings, providing resource information and input.
• Liaise with customer design and operations personnel to gather site-specific design information.
• Accountable for cost and schedule on assigned projects.
