Job summary

INNIO Group in Welland, Ontario, seeks a Manufacturing Co-op to join the Machining Team. You will support continuous improvement projects and assist with process optimization across manufacturing operations.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, with basic knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor, CNC milling/lathe exposure, and proficiency in Excel. You will collaborate across functions and help drive efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Inprocess of completing degree in a related discipline such as Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Experience working within a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor is a plus.
• Basic familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Completing tasks related to monitoring, trending and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
• Assist with troubleshooting and solving problems related to process efficiency, product quality, throughput and yield.
• Assist in investigations through data compilation and statistical analysis to determine root causes of atypical events.
• Assist with new product prove-out and qualification activities on production equipment.
• Assist with validating purchased noble components to facilitate supplier qualifications and continuous improvement.
• Compile and analyze process data; present results and prepare reports.
• Contribute to process improvement projects such as Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Prepare and data-check technical reports.
• Support change management activities.
• Use ERP enterprise software to source information and navigate business operations.
• Provide support to Technical Operations department with process executions.

What are we looking for?

Act as the Manufacturing Co-op and be a member of the Machining Team. You will be working closely to support a number of continuous improvement projects and variety of assignments to promote the optimization of processes.

Co-op Term Duration: September 2026 - December 2026

Essential Responsibilities

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge of working with AutoCAD & Inventor would be considered an asset.
• Basic knowledge of CNC Mill/Lathe.
• Knowledge of operating manual Mill and Lathe.
• Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Desire to learn about the technical process of engine component/manufacturing.
• Professional demeanor/customer service oriented.
• Ability to muti-task and deliver key objectives within established timelines.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Software, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle and/or other ERP systems preferred.
