Job summary

Ag Growth International Inc. Swift Current is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support a broad range of projects from design updates to lean initiatives and production troubleshooting. You will collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Sales to move projects from concept to implementation.

In a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, projects typically span 2–6 weeks, focusing on process improvements, equipment layout, and quality testing while upholding OH&S standards and ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or CET is required.
• 1–2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical design and metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes through research, design, and testing with vendors.
• Develop manufacturing methods and equipment in collaboration with suppliers.
• Improve efficiency by planning workflow, space, and layout.
• Assure quality by designing tests and verifying processes.
• Calculate production costs and estimate future material needs.
• Prepare reports on trends and performance.

The Opportunity

As a Manufacturing Engineer at AGI Swift Current, you will cover a broad spectrum of engineering work including design updates to our product lines, lean initiatives, research & development and troubleshooting production issues. Our fast-paced environment means most projects will only last 2-6 weeks from inception to implementation. This role is highly cross-functional and involves working closely with the Purchasing, Production, and Sales departments requiring strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Understand and follow OH&S policies and procedures and foster a culture of safety and respect.
• Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T).
• 1-2 years relevant experience in engineering with manufacturing industry
• Experience in mechanical design and metal fabrication process
