Job description

Adamson is a discrete manufacturer with strong vertical integration. Our capacity includes PCB assembly, CNC part making, finishing and complex product assembly; with these tools we manufacture live performance audio systems found in stadiums around the world. You can see examples of our products in action at www.adamson.ai

We are increasing our footprint to 130,000 sq ft to enable greater automation, increased product range, and a significant increase in manufacturing volume. Working environment, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency form the core of our mission.

These goals can only be achieved by deploying the most advanced workflow concepts combined with strategic integration of ERP scheduling and Manufacturing Execution Systems. With this focus full shop floor integration can become a reality.

Key Responsibilities

The day-to-day duties generally focus on continuous improvement, machinery management, and data tracking:

  • Process Optimization: Streamlining workflows and programming to cut down production cycle times.
  • Tooling & Fixture Design: Creating custom jigs, assembly fixtures, or robotic cell layouts using 3D CAD software.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Cooperating with R&D teams to transition from the solid model to repeatable manufactured product.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshooting product quality failures, production floor bottlenecks, machine defects, scrapped production, and equipment downtime.
  • Documentation: Authoring standard operating procedures (SOPs), process routings, and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree (preference shown for Masters) in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years of shop floor experience required.
  • Software App Competence: Proficiency in CAD systems like SolidWorks or AutoCAD, alongside ERP/MRP business systems.
  • Methodologies: Strong familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and formal problem-solving like 8D analysis.
  • Regulations: Employment Standards Act (ESA), Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Environmental Protection Act (EPA), PEO
Technical Skills
  • Total Quality Management: Understanding of TQM applications in discrete manufacturing
