Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada is seeking a detail-oriented QA Manual Test Engineer focused on frontend and backend API validation. You will validate end-to-end functionality of web and mobile applications, test API endpoints, and ensure data integrity before deployments.

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Manual Test Engineer specializing in frontend and backend API validation. You will be responsible for validating the end-to-end functionality of our web and mobile applications. You will thoroughly test endpoints, backend business rules, and user interfaces before customer deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Requirements: Review product specifications, functional criteria, and API documentation (e.g., Swagger).
• Design Test Cases: Create comprehensive manual test plans, scenarios, and verification steps.
• Execute API Tests: Manually validate HTTP requests, payloads, response bodies, status codes, headers, and authorization headers.
• Perform UI & Functional Testing: Execute front-end smoke, sanity, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Log & Track Defects: Document software bugs clearly with steps to reproduce, payloads, and logs in Jira.
• Data Verification: Write basic SQL queries to verify backend data changes match API transactions.
• Collaborate: Work closely with backend developers, product managers, and agile teams to resolve blockers.

Required Technical Skills

• Testing Methodologies: Strong grasp of the STLC, SDLC, and bug tracking life cycle.
• API Tools: Hands-on proficiency using Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger.
• Web Services: Practical knowledge of RESTful services, SOAP architectures, JSON, and XML schemas.
• Database Management: Competence with SQL to query data tables and ensure integrity.
• Project Management Tools: Experience using Jira Software

Salary Range - CA$ 90,000 - CA$ 105,000 Per Year
