We are now seeking for a new managing director who will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of Dalimar Instruments and day-to-day operations.

Tasks include planning, organizing and directing sales of PCB Piezotronics and affiliates (including direct reports) to achieve revenue and profits consistent with corporate objectives. Develop and lead conversion-selling pursuits throughout Canada. Motivate, direct, monitor, support and coach both inside and outside sales teams along with key distributors. Monitor, record, and analyze individual and aggregate sales performance levels and tie to management decisions. Take appropriate actions to keep the region’s sales program implementation on target to achieve forecasted results.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Lead and manage day-to-day business operations for Dalimar Instruments to ensure alignment with PCB and Amphenol objectives.
  • Responsible for the financial and operational performance of Dalimar Instruments.
  • Oversee the necessary human resources and capital needs for the performance and success of Dalimar Instruments.
  • Establishes the region’s plan for revenue and delivers to that plan.Forecasts future region business for each fiscal year, and updates the forecast periodically, as required.
  • Provide regular management reports and updates on the account and/or market situation. Keep supervisor informed of progress against targets, and any potential issues within assigned accounts.
  • Investigates, on a continuous basis, the various elements of the strategic plan such as competition, market movements, competitive pricing levels, new technologies and other external factors as they may relate to his individual territory.
  • Sales Meetings: In partnership with the Managing Director - Americas, prepares, organizes, and participates in sales meetings to improve and promote the sales team. Prepares and presents updates on assigned sales territory and related customers.
  • Formulates and recommends plans, practices, goals and objectives for the region’s selling activities to expand market share in existing markets and capture new markets.
  • Manages assigned sales engineers to ensure they have the necessary tools and support to advance sales opportunities. Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes to sales structure to optimize coverage of Sales Region and/or different customer segmentations.
  • Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned employees to produce a high-performing selling organization. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet organization needs, and implements plans to satisfy those requirements.
  • Accompany sales professionals to assist them and learn more about customers in their territory, assist in opening new accounts and coaching sales professionals on approach to generate effective customer relationships.
  • Continuously seeks and creates new opportunities and reports them to Salesforce.com. Develops the opportunities from one stage to the other targeting to finally close and win the opportunity. Report all activity into Salesforce.com and ensure direct reports follow standards for data that should be loaded into salesforce and monitors quality.
  • Actively participates in, or directly handles, the closing of significant orders when necessary.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of PCB/Dalimar technology and products and their applications. Develops a personal training schedule to enhance both technical and business management skills in cooperation with the Managing Director – Americas.
  • Participates in trade shows to find new business opportunities and carry out market research.
  • In cooperation with the Managing Director - Americas works with Marketing and MarCom to determine and promote product and price competitiveness, product acceptance, growth of market share, cost efficiency, higher profit margins and a competitive advantage.
  • Transports information related to customers, Innovation Workshops, markets and competition to the Managing Director – Americas, and – if appropriate to other parties, i.e. MarCom. Supports development of Application Notes.
  • Supports Customer Service with appropriate and high-quality information that enables quality pre and post-sale service of the customer.
  • Knows and applies the division’s quality and environment policy and procedures as it relates to area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and suggest improvement or develop new procedures where appropriate.
  • Manage existing office in Montreal and responsible for day-to-day operations and decision making.
  • Formulates regional and individual selling plans based upon the demands of the market plans. Key contributor to marketing planning and development.
  • Designs sales territories and regional coverage to meet the needs of the market group.
  • Translates business requirements of the selling and marketing organizations into an efficient and highly productive sales region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or 8 years of relevant technical/commercial experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of previous channel management experience, experience in multinational organization. Experience in a supervisory/managerial role. Demonstrated ability to hire, train and coach sales professionals. Demonstrated ability to identify, target and convert strategic competitor accounts to PCB/Dalimar.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends in assigned accounts and markets. Proven problem solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in French and English language written and spoken.

WORK LOCATION: VUDREUIL, QC

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 50%-75% and ability to travel internationally.
