The Managing Director, Credit Execution, National Accounts Group (NCG) serves in a management capacity within a sales-driven team. The personn contributes directly to business development by supporting the identification, structuring, approval, and execution of complex credit solutions for the Bank’s largest corporate clients.

Reporting to the Vice-President, National Accounts Group, Quebec, the person acts as a business leader and key partner within the team. They are responsible for the execution of credit activities in complex transactions involving bilateral, syndicated, cross-border, or specialized financing structures, while ensuring alignment among growth objectives, client needs, and the Bank’s risk appetite.

In a highly business development-oriented environment, the incumbent plays an active role throughout the entire transaction lifecycle. They support Directors in qualifying opportunities, structuring financing proposals, negotiating key terms and conditions, and securing strategic mandates, while maintaining rigorous credit discipline and sound risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Sales, and Organizational Development
  • Lead and develop a team of Portfolio Management Directors and Associates who directly support the National Accounts Group’s sales and client relationship activities.
  • Mobilize teams around performance objectives, operational excellence, and rigorous risk management practices.
  • Actively contribute to the team's strategic direction in support of growth priorities, business opportunities, and portfolio quality objectives.
Origination, Structuring, and Execution of Complex Transactions
  • Contribute to the origination and oversee the structuring of complex financing solutions that address the needs of large Canadian and international corporations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for bilateral and syndicated credit facilities, as well as specialized financing transactions.
  • Ensure the consistency and soundness of credit structures, covenant packages, collateral arrangements, and risk mitigation mechanisms.
  • Support teams in evaluating and negotiating financial and legal terms and conditions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on strategic transactions or those involving a high degree of complexity.
Credit Risk Management and Governance
  • Ensure the rigorous application of credit policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of recommendations submitted to approval authorities.
  • Identify emerging risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in various credit committees and decision-making forums.
  • Promote a strong and consistent risk culture across all teams.
Portfolio Management and Due Diligence
  • Oversee financial, industry, and transactional analyses related to credit opportunities and portfolio management.
  • Assess financial, operational, and business risks associated with clients and transactions.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring of portfolio performance and key risk indicators.
  • Lead portfolio reviews, remediation plans, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Maintain portfolio quality in alignment with the Bank’s expectations and risk standards.
Business Partnership and Strategic Influence
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to support profitable portfolio growth.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to market leaders regarding business opportunities, transaction structuring, and risk management considerations.
  • Contribute to the development of industry strategies and national growth priorities and Pan-canadian initiatives.
  • Support the evolution of processes, tools, and the operating model of the National Accounts Group.
  • Represent the organization in various internal forums related to credit and risk management.
Scope of Responsibility

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the execution of credit activities associated with a portfolio of large corporate clients with complex and strategic financing needs.

Transactions under their responsibility may include:

  • Syndicated loans
  • Asset-based lending facilities
  • Cross-border financing structures
  • Multi-product transactions involving multiple internal stakeholders
Education and Experience
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • More than 12 years of experience in commercial and corporate banking.
  • Recognized expertise in complex credit analysis and structuring.
  • Significant experience leading teams of specialized professionals.
  • Deep knowledge of corporate credit markets and syndicated financing.
