ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Sustainability Strategy and Transformation to join our Canada team. In this hybrid role you will help mining organizations integrate sustainability into strategic and investment decisions, manage risk, and unlock long-term value across the mining lifecycle.

You will work with executives, investors, and multidisciplinary specialists to shape responsible mining and deliver tangible business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 4+ years of management consulting, mining/metals, sustainability advisory, corporate strategy, project development, transactions, or related field.
  • Experience delivering strategy, transformation, transaction, or risk advisory engagements in mining, metals, and other industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, project financing, due diligence, corporate development, integration planning, or investment decisions.

Lead the Future of Sustainable Mining Through Strategy, Transformation, and Value Creation

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Sustainability Strategy and Transformation to join our growing team in Canada . In this high-impact role, you will help mining organizations navigate uncertainty, integrate sustainability into strategic and investment decisions, manage risk, strengthen stakeholder trust, and unlock long-term value across the mining lifecycle. Working alongside executive leaders, investors, and multidisciplinary specialists, you will shape the future of responsible mining while delivering tangible business outcomes that create lasting value.

Hybrid work arrangement. Candidates located near an ERM office are preferred but not required.

What You'll Bring
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, mining and metals, sustainability advisory, corporate strategy, project development, transactions, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering strategy, transformation, transaction, or risk advisory engagements within the mining and metals, and other industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, project financing, due diligence, corporate development, integration planning, or investment decisions.
  • Experience helping organizations translate sustainability commitments into actionable business strategies, transformation programs, and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams to integrate sustainability, risk management, and value creation objectives into strategic decision-making.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex engagements, stakeholders, and project delivery.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, and proposal development experience.
  • Strong understanding of ESG and sustainability issues facing the mining industry, including climate change, biodiversity, water stewardship, social performance, Indigenous engagement, human rights, mine closure, and responsible sourcing.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and manage sustainability, regulatory, operational, and stakeholder-related risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize technical, commercial, environmental, and social information into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, boards, investors, regulators, communities, and project teams.
  • Familiarity with leading sustainability frameworks, ESG due diligence practices, and mining industry regulatory and permitting requirements.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a leading consulting firm, mining company, investment organization, project developer, or advisory practice focused on sustainability, strategy, risk, or transactions.
