Job summary

solis optics, a division of FYihealth group, is hiring a Store Manager/Optician in Vancouver (Yaletown). The role is full-time, 30-40 hours/week, open Mon-Sat. You will lead operations, coach staff, enhance store performance, and ensure an outstanding customer experience.

The successful candidate is a Registered Optician in BC with 2–4 years of supervisory experience and a background in retail and customer service. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience in customer service and retail preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

We're hiring to fill a current vacancy, join our team at Vancouver - Yaletown - partners of solis optics, as a Store Manager/Optician!

In this role, you’ll play a pivot role in driving operational excellence and fostering a customer-focused environment. You’ll empower staff, optimize store performance, and make a meaningful impact on people’s lives – one frame at a time.

This position is a full-time role working 30-40 hours per week. Our location is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality standards, cost efficiency, and strong performance in alignment with company goals and values
• Coach and mentor team members to develop skills, improve performance, and grow their knowledge
• Collaborate with the Regional Coach to enhance your leadership skills and drive store success
• Foster a motivated, high-performing team by inspiring and empowering the team to achieve store goals
• Enhance store performance by refining processes, introducing initiatives, and delivering an outstanding customer experience
• Lead marketing initiatives, track their effectiveness, and implement best practices to grow and strengthen the brand
• Educate and guide customers on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring both style and optimal vision
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience and creating value for every customer
• Support store operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Registered Optician in British Columbia
• College degree or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in customer service and retail preferred
• 2-4 years of management or supervisory experience
• Understanding of operations, processes, and business performance
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Proven ability to inspire, coach, and mentor a team while driving organizational goals and delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player, able to manage changing priorities effectively
• Knowledge of optical theory and eyewear merchandise is considered an asset

The expected starting compensation for this position is between $58,100 to $72,600 annually, considering factors like experience, skills, and qualifications.
