The Opportunity

The role of a Manager, Development is to lead teams of software developers to ship reliable code consistently. You will oversee teams in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software programs and applications. Collaboration with other managers and stakeholders is essential to ensure the software products meet business objectives, security requirements, and customer needs.

We are seeking a Manager, Development to empower, inspire, and support a talented engineering team. Your technical and leadership experience will be used to coach and mentor your team, ensuring the creation and delivery of products that delight our customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the team follows best practices and meets quality and performance standards
• Identify and address factors inhibiting development process efficiency and effectiveness
• Review technical specifications and develop high-quality, pragmatic solutions fulfilling complex business requirements
• Plan and lead project estimations and assign appropriate team members
• Collaborate with other leaders to publish and monitor metrics
• Evaluate and select suitable tools, technologies, and methodologies for software development
• Set goals and expectations, providing guidance and feedback to the team
• Manage employee expectations, conduct annual reviews, and support career development
• Work under pressure while utilizing excellent time management skills
• Demonstrate commitment to core values and team environment

• Support operations outside standard hours due to the 24/7 payments industry and North American client base

Qualifications

Required

• 7+ years of software development experience with an object-oriented or functional language
• 2+ years of leadership experience in an Agile environment
• 2+ years supervising direct reports
• Experience working remotely with teams
• Experience with full Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred

• Experience in the payments industry
• Experience with embedded systems
• Familiarity with Linux, Git, Docker, AWS
• Experience with Elixir or Ruby
