Intact is hiring a Manager, Software Development to join the HR IT team in Canada. The role leads cross-functional teams, drives agile delivery, and aligns with business strategies to deliver value across initiatives.

A bachelor’s degree in IT/Software is expected along with extensive experience in IT development leadership and SaaS delivery. The role offers a hybrid work model with competitive salary and annual bonus target.

Responsibilities

• Develop and keep the strategic demand plan up to date with timelines and costs.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including PMs, Scrum Masters and PCOs.
• Prepare reports on progress, costs and closure with KPIs.
• Lead project risk management and ensure delivery.
• Maintain dashboards throughout the program lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities from industry trends and technology innovation.
• Staff initiatives balancing organizational needs with career goals.
• Anticipate problems and resolve them.
• Be accountable for production, security and governance of IT systems.

Salary Range (but Not Limited To)

128,300 - 156,800

Annual Bonus Target, Based On The Base Salary, With a Potential Payout Of Up To Double The Target (subject To Personal And Company Performance)

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About The Role

What You’ll Do Here

• Assess capabilities to recommend appropriate solutions and deliver the expected value.
• Manage stakeholders and maintain good relationships with internal and external collaborators.
• Maintain a strong business focus with an understanding of Intact’s current and strategic technology direction.
• As we strive for continuous improvement, evolve our agile practices based on lessons learned throughout the end-to-end development lifecycle.
• Have a thorough grasp of all aspects of software development.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and challenge the status quo.
• Develop and keep the strategic demand plan up to date by identifying deliverables and dependencies, estimating associated timelines and costs, and helping assign resources to activities.
• Build, lead and coordinate, through direct and/or indirect supervision, the activities of multidisciplinary teams, including Project Managers (PMs), Scrum Masters and Project Control Officers (PCOs).
• Prepare reports covering all aspects of the project—including progress, issues, costs, and closure—while adhering to established performance indicators.
• Lead project risk management and effectively manage project delivery.
• Maintain dashboards on a regular and ongoing basis throughout the program/project lifecycle.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry trends and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and suggesting solutions as appropriate.
• Work with Software Engineering Managers and Project Managers to staff initiatives appropriately, balancing organizational needs with each person’s experience and career goals.
• Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take the necessary steps to resolve them.
• Be accountable for the production, security and governance of the sector’s IT systems.

What You Bring To The Table

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology/software engineering or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Experience leading IT development initiatives.

• Experience in project management skills, including planning, budget and timeline management, scope management, risk management, timely decision-making and building effective teams.

• No Canadian work experience required; however, must be eligible to work in Canada.
