If you're energized by fast-paced fundraising and want your work to directly benefit people facing cancer, this role is for you.

ABOUT LOOK GOOD FEEL BETTER:

Who we are at the core: Look Good Feel Better is Canada’s only national charitable program dedicated to helping people manage the physical and emotional effects of cancer and its treatment. Our workshops are delivered online and in more than 80 hospitals and cancer centres across the country. Topics include Skincare & Makeup, Wigs & Scarves, Bras & Prostheses, Shaving & Men’s Skincare, Post-treatment Nutrition, Advanced Skincare, Nail Care and a dedicated workshop for teens. During workshops, participants receive tools and techniques to help deal with the psychosocial impact of the disease and connect with others going through similar experiences. Led by expert volunteers in a small group setting, the workshops offer a supportive and welcoming environment.

OUR CULTURE AND VALUES:
  • We are driven by a culture of inclusivity, accountability, transparency, authenticity, and purpose
  • We are proud to be a diverse team with continued commitment to fostering our DEIB capacity reflected by our team, board members, partners, and the stakeholders we serve and strive to serve
  • We value work-life balance through a hybrid remote-work model along with an emphasis on personal health and wellness through time off and ability to disconnect
  • Along with competitive salaries within the non-profit sector, we provide competitive health benefits coverage and an RSP matching program (as applicable)
  • We offer a generous paid time off package including vacation days, wellness days and paid closure over the winter holiday break
  • We encourage team connectivity, collaboration, celebration and cultivating mentorship and growth
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

The Manager, Signature Events is responsible for the strategic planning, management and execution of Look Good Feel Better’s key events, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and against revenue and fundraising goals. Working closely with the Development, Marketing & Communications and Operations teams, Volunteer Committees, sponsors, donors and external vendors, this role leads all aspects of event delivery—from committee support, sponsorship and auction management to venue logistics, guest experience and event-day execution. The Events Manager also evaluates and evolves our events to identify opportunities for revenue growth, stronger engagement and greater operational efficiency.

Core Deliverables:
Event Management (80%):
  • Manage the successful planning and execution of Look Good Feel Better’s key events through effective stakeholder relationships including Volunteer Committees, vendors and internal LGFB teams, ticket sales, live and silent auctions, on-site fundraising, sponsorship/donor recognition and budgeting.
  • With the Development Team, support Volunteer Committees, including preparing for and attending meetings, creating committee presentations, pipeline creation, supporting committee member solicitations and donations, and providing progress reports.
  • Work closely with vendor partners to manage venue logistics, catering, vendors, décor, entertainment, silent and live auction execution.
  • Monitor and manage the event budgets, timelines, and critical paths to ensure delivery against workback schedules and revenue goals
  • Manage the online auction platform for each event - including item entry, bidder registration, on-site bidding support, reconciliation, and payment processing.
  • Act as liaison for sponsors, donors, and guests by coordinating sponsorship fulfillment, receipting, guest lists, and seating requirements.
  • Manage vendor(s) for event fixture storage and delivery and donor product procurements for event gifting/swag bags.
  • Work with the Marcom team to ensure sponsor deliverables are met, support social media and tickets sales strategies.
  • Oversee and evaluate current events while innovating for revenue growth and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee / support the recruitment and coordination of event-day volunteers.
  • Work with the Operations team to ensure event technology platforms and logistics.
  • Coordinate post-event surveys for attendees and/or committee members and lead a staff post-mortem to capture a "lessons learned / reminders for next year" list for each event.
Awareness and Donor-Based Events
  • With the support of Programs, Operations and Marketing teams, ensure awareness and donor-based events are supported as required.
  • Manage the inventory of materials, signage, and supplies needed for fundraising events, conferences, and corporate functions. Manage the lifecycle — collection, delivery, on-site use, return, and reintegration into inventory.
General (20%)
  • Work with key team members to deliver required reporting, partnership agreements and recognition plans
  • Conduct research and develop briefing notes, presentations or analysis for senior leadership, committee members or board
  • Coordinate catering and hospitality for internal team events and meetings, managing vendor selection, dietary accommodations, and budget.
  • Contribute and support fundraising and administrative infrastructure and its suite of tools to ensure consistency and adherence to CRA guidelines
  • Ensure the integrity and usability of donor data and financial processes to maximize fundraising activities and meet organizational reporting through tracking of all prospecting and account management activities
  • Develop or contribute to short and long term‑departmental strategic plan, annual operating plan, and pipeline.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
  • 6-8+ years successful experience in event management
  • Experience in a non-profit, charitable organization, hospital or corporate events department preferred.
  • University degree or equivalent in fundraising, marketing or sales
  • Proven track record of strong project management skills and ability to work independently and co-operatively on a small team, while managing multiple projects.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking capabilities and attention to detail

  • Passionate about sharing and advocating for supportive health care, empowering individuals and their families, community programming and capacity building
  • Active participant to organizational culture and mission as both a team player and individual contributor
CONSIDERATIONS:
