Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our dynamic food service team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and maintain high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, kitchen, dining, and customer service activities.
  • Lead and supervise restaurant staff, including hiring, interviewing, training, coaching, scheduling, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide direction and instruction to ensure efficient, professional, and consistent service.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, proper portioning, and adherence to established food preparation methods.
  • Develop and manage the restaurant budget, including monitoring food, ingredient, beverage/alcohol, kitchen, cleaning, and other operating costs.
  • Monitor revenues and labour costs to ensure operations remain within budget and make adjustments as required.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, oversee food and supply ordering, and negotiate arrangements and pricing with suppliers.
  • Modify menu offerings, food preparation methods, and menu pricing in accordance with operational requirements, customer demand, and the restaurant budget.
  • Establish and implement operational procedures and determine appropriate food and service offerings to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage POS systems, including order processing, cash handling, and daily transaction procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety regulations across kitchen and dining areas.
  • Implement and supervise food industry best practices relating to food handling, kitchen management, serving, hospitality, and sanitation.
  • Provide excellent customer service, respond to customer needs, and address and resolve complaints or concerns professionally.
  • Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering services, private events, and use of restaurant facilities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage restaurant events, catering functions, and special service requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans and initiatives to promote the restaurant and its services.
  • Evaluate daily operations and identify opportunities to improve service quality, staff efficiency, cost control, and overall restaurant performance.
Experience
  • Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment with a strong background in restaurant management.
  • Extensive food service experience including food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros or similar platforms; experience with cash handling is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in team management, including interviewing potential staff members and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen operations, hospitality standards, and restaurant experience is required.
