Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) has an exciting opportunity for a candidate to lead the team responsible for ensuring all company products and services comply with safety, environmental, and privacy regulations. This role involves strategic planning to stay ahead of regulatory developments. It is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.

Key Responsibilities:
People Management:
  • Guide, coach, and develop team members
  • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement
Planning and Reporting:
  • Set goals and KPIs for the department
  • Manage departmental activities and budgets
  • Identify and address compliance gaps
  • Support ZEV compliance and reporting
Regulatory Affairs:
  • Serve as the main contact with Canadian regulatory agencies
  • Represent TCI on technical committees
  • Develop regulatory submissions and maintain stakeholder updates
  • Lead environmental initiatives and maintain ISO 14001 certification
Relationship Development:
  • Build relationships within TCI and with external regulators
  • Lead internal and external outreach
Work Efficiency:
  • Implement continuous improvement processes
  • Standardize procedures and share best practices
Qualifications:
  • Degree in science, business, or engineering
  • 5+ years in compliance roles
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Experience with environmental credits and ISO 14001
  • Knowledge of environmental, safety, and spectrum regulations in Canada
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Bilingual in English/French is an asset
