Job summary

Nutreco, part of the SHV family, invites applications for a Manager – Record to Report (Finance) based in Okotoks, AB with remote work and occasional on-site days. You will lead the NA R2R function, driving accuracy and timeliness of close processes.

You will coach GL supervisors, oversee multi-entity accounting, and partner with stakeholders to standardize processes, automate reporting, and strengthen internal controls. A CPA with IFRS expertise and strong Excel/Power BI skills is required.

• Experience in IFRS, month-end close, and balance sheet control.

What you’ll do

• Lead, stabilize, and continuously improve the Record to Report (R2R) function for the North America Business Unit.
• Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to General Ledger Supervisors and their teams.
• Oversee day-to-day General Ledger operations, ensuring high levels of performance, accuracy, and service delivery.
• Ensure the timely and accurate execution of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through effective account reconciliation and financial control processes.
• Oversee General Ledger accounting, intercompany transactions, fixed asset accounting, and lease accounting across a complex multi-entity environment.
• Support financial reporting requirements by ensuring accurate and reliable accounting data.
• Build a high-performing, accountable, and well-controlled R2R organization.
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
• Standardize accounting processes and implement best practices to drive consistency and efficiency.
• Champion automation initiatives and leverage technology to improve productivity and reporting accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement programs that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and financial reliability.
• Foster a data-driven culture by utilizing metrics, KPIs, and analytics to support decision-making and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve processes, resolve issues, and support business objectives.

Who we’re looking for

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CPA designation completed .
• 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in a hands‑on Strong knowledge of IFRS , month end close, balance sheet control, reconciliation and experience dealing with external auditors
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-business-unit environment is strongly preferred.
• A solid understanding of IFRS and the ability to apply sound accounting judgment are essential.
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work efficiently with large data sets and support reconciliation and analysis activities. Experience with Power BI or similar tools is considered an asset.

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with a heavier workload at month-end.
• Leadership Mindset – Demonstrated ability to lead through change, set clear expectations, coach and develop accounting teams, promote accountability, and build a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS – Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance, exercise sound judgment, and ensure consistent, compliant financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Digital & Analytical Capabilities – Proficiency with financial consolidation software and advanced analytical tools, with the ability to work with complex data, identify trends, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support automation and process improvement initiatives
