Job summary

The City of Edmonton seeks an experienced leader to manage the Property Exhibit Section within the Edmonton Police Service. You will guide the Property Exhibit Unit, Drug Exhibit Unit, and Cash Processing Centre, ensuring custody, accountability, storage, release, and disposition of property and exhibits with compliance to laws and standards.

You will lead a diverse team, develop policies, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with EPS senior leadership.

Qualifications

• University graduation in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Min 5 years in law enforcement operations including property/evidence management.
• Min 3 years supervisory experience with people leadership and coaching.
• Experience interpreting legislation, policing standards, and policies.
• Experience leading policy, process and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience with quality assurance, audits or modernization efforts.
• Experience with financial management including budgets and cash controls.
• Ability to obtain IAPE membership within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for PES, PEU, DEU and CPC.
• Oversee custody, continuity, storage, release and disposition of property.
• Develop and implement section goals and business plans aligned to EPS.
• Ensure compliance with laws, standards and court requirements.
• Lead audits, quality assurance and risk mitigation.
• Drive modernization and use of data-informed decision making.
• Manage facilities and security of exhibit warehouses and cash centre.
