Qualifications

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide performance management, coaching, ongoing support, and development for the team, including training for new and existing staff as needed
  • Manage and oversee month-end / year-end closing procedures and day-to-day accounting activities of the Pharmacy Accounting team

Perform and review GL account reconciliations, ensuring proper support and analysis

  • Ensure manual journal entries are complete, accurate, and compliant with US GAAP and SOX
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes
  • Report financial information accurately and promptly
  • Support inventory variance analysis and investigation
  • Assist with internal controls documentation and testing under SOX
  • Develop a thorough understanding of financial reporting and the general ledger structure
  • Support the general accounting team to meet financial reporting deadlines and ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to safeguard and ensure financial accuracy of inventory across locations
  • Advise on handling non-routine reporting transactions
  • Work with finance team members to support department goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve procedures and resource use while maintaining high accuracy
  • Engage in continuous process improvement, including ERP system enhancements and upgrades
  • Respond to inquiries from senior management regarding financial results and reporting
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements :

  • BA / BS in Business with emphasis in Accounting; CPA required
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, including 2 years in inventory management
  • Supervisory experience in financial reporting and general ledger management required
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry preferred

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and ERP systems; Sage experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Supervisory, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to implement audit-ready processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
