Job description

Manager of Facilities Operations

Permanent Full-time - 35 Hours Per Week - Monday to Friday - 12 months (1.0 FTE)

Salary range: $122,135 to $138,788

Start date: Immediately; Duration: Permanent

Reporting to the Sr. Manager Of Facilities and Construction, the Manager of Facility Operations oversees the Board’s Caretaking, Maintenance, and Environmental Services to ensure efficient operation of mechanical/electrical systems, environmental control, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Facilities and Construction

WORK LOCATION(S) AND HOURS: Catholic Education Centre

Candidates must possess:

  • Successful completion of a degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least seven (7) years of facilities management and supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of building codes, fire codes, bylaws, and relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Experience with building automation, security, mechanical, electrical, and water systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, organizational, managerial, and supervisory skills.
  • Experience with Facility Management technologies and advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with large employers and bargaining unit environments; education sector experience is an asset.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Developing and evaluating facilities policies and procedures.
  2. Providing leadership and support to Facilities staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  3. Assisting with budget management and strategic planning.
  4. Managing operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
  5. Ensuring legislative compliance and liaising with government agencies.
  6. Managing contracts for security, snow removal, landscaping, and other services.
  7. Participating in management teams and safety committees.
  8. Overseeing data management for reporting and compliance.
  9. Supervising staff involved in project design and maintenance records.
  10. Managing professional development activities and construction projects.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned.
