Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare seeks a Manager of Clinical Practice (MCP) to provide strong clinical leadership, operational oversight, and excellence in client care within a community care setting in Ontario. The MCP will oversee professional nursing staff and paraprofessionals, driving quality improvement and staff development.

The role requires RN in good standing with CNO, CPR, and 5+ years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership or supervisory nursing experience in a community healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee branch clinical quality standards and drive clinical quality initiatives.
  • Ensure comprehensive client assessments and development of client-centered care plans.
  • Conduct client home visits to evaluate care needs and monitor service delivery.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate field staff and provide clinical leadership.
  • Lead clinical training sessions and routine performance management.
  • Coordinate care delivery with funders, interdisciplinary teams, and programs.
  • Participate in on-call clinician rotation and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with CNO standards, Bayshore policies, safety, and privacy laws.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Manager of Clinical Practice (MCP) to provide strong clinical leadership, operational oversight, and excellence in client care within a community care setting.

The MCP promotes full-scope clinical practice, ensures compliance with professional and regulatory standards, and drives quality improvement initiatives. This pivotal role provides clinical oversight, team leadership, and dedicated mentorship across both professional nursing staff and paraprofessional care teams – guiding and supporting staff growth to ensure optimal outcomes for the clients we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee branch clinical quality standards by conducting regular chart reviews, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, and driving clinical quality initiatives.
  • Ensure comprehensive client assessments are completed and oversee the development of clear, client-centered care plans that align with professional practice standards.
  • Conduct client home visits as needed to evaluate care needs, monitor service delivery, and ensure optimal matching between clients and field staff.
  • Act as a reliable point of contact to investigate, document, and resolve client, family, funder, or employee concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate field staff, providing strong clinical leadership and mentorship to paraprofessionals to foster their professional growth and ensure high-quality client care.
  • Lead practical orientation, clinical training sessions, and routine performance management to maintain team competency and support ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinate care delivery through clear, professional written and verbal communication with community funders, interdisciplinary care teams, and government health programs.
  • Support overall branch operations and participate in a structured on-call clinician rotation as required to ensure continuous clinical support for clients and staff.
  • Maintain strict compliance with CNO professional standards, Bayshore policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and privacy legislation.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Education & Professional Registration

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing preferred).
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Active CPR certification and documentation of negative TB status.
  • Specialty nursing certifications (e.g., CNA, LEAP, deSouza) are considered strong assets.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership, clinical oversight, or supervisory nursing experience (community healthcare setting strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of leading training, education, and mentorship initiatives for clinical and paraprofessional teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of human resources practices and workplace policy interpretation.
  • Experience with business development or clinical service expansion is an asset.

Skills & Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation and interact professionally with clients, families, funders, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to evaluate clinical situations, exercise sound professional judgment, and make thoughtful decisions independently.
  • Natural leadership talent with an approachable coaching style, comfortable guiding and empowering paraprofessional staff to support their ongoing growth and elevate client care.
  • High self-motivation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and thrive in a dynamic community care environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 50%25 of the time within the local service region for client visits, staff support, and field supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and appropriate auto insurance. (Paid mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Comfort and proficiency using computers and healthcare technology, including Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and virtual communication tools.
  • A clear criminal background check, including a vulnerable sector screening.
