Overview
Reporting to the Director, Lending Services, the Manager of Mortgage Administration oversees mortgage administration services for BC Housing’s mortgage portfolios, including CMHC devolved loans, social housing projects, and new housing programs. The role leads management of inquiries, develops financial reports, procedures and reporting tools, and provides leadership to the team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee mortgage administration services for BC Housing’s mortgage portfolios.
- Lead management of mortgage administration inquiries and requests from internal departments, housing providers, takeout lenders/counsel, CMHC, and external stakeholders.
- Develop financial reports, procedures, templates, and reporting tools.
- Provide leadership and support to the team; build collaborative and positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Review complex mortgage registration packages, mortgage takeout/renewal security documents, tender documents, mortgage statements, and notices to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Candidate Profile
New or experienced professional with strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Significant experience managing internal and external client inquiries and resolving issues.
- Experience leading a team that administers a large CMHC‑insured devolved and takeout mortgage portfolio.
- Willingness to learn and understand corporate enterprise applications (JD Edwards, WebFOCUS, CPS) and CMHC reporting systems.
- Extensive knowledge of mortgage administration, reporting/analysis models, CMHC reporting systems and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
- Ability to lead complex, technical mortgage administrative requests and communicate process considerations to management.
