Job summary

Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) is seeking a Manager of Marketing for Vancouver Warriors, Rogers Arena, and Community initiatives. You will lead a marketing portfolio, supervise team members, and drive campaigns within the corporate marketing plan to support ticket sales, retention, retail, and fan engagement.

The role requires strategic leadership, budget management, and strong analytics to optimize spend and deliver compelling campaigns across multiple properties.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in strategic leadership of sales & marketing teams; sports marketing preferred.
  • Experience with digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Experience leading a team, setting strategic direction and driving department goals.
  • Highly organized with strong administrative and time management skills.
  • Experience compiling reports and presenting to senior executives.
  • Ability to balance analytical and creative approaches to improve customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Grow fan base through targeted campaigns and improve affinity and loyalty.
  • Report performance metrics across traditional and digital platforms.
  • Gather data on ticket buyers to tailor communications.

Position: Manager, Marketing (Vancouver Warriors, Rogers Arena, Community)
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director, Brand & Marketing
Term:
12-18 months (Maternity Leave Coverage)

SUMMARY:

The Manager, Marketing will lead a portfolio within the Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) Marketing department and oversee the planning, development, and execution of all campaigns contained within the corporate marketing plan that support the goals and initiatives of CSE’s ticket sales, community, retail, and fan engagement departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
(Other duties may be assigned from time to time)

  • Lead a portolio within the Marketing department (Vancouver Warriors, Rogers Arena, Community) and oversee the day-to-day supervision, growth, and development of team members, including Marketing Specialists and Coordinators
  • Manage the marketing department budget, optimizing spend through analytics-driven decision making and strategic discipline
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of corporate annual marketing plans supporting the ticketing, member retention, retail, hospitality, and fan engagement departments for select CSE Properties (Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Warriors, Rogers Arena)
  • Liaise with the Content and Design teams to develop marketing collateral aligned to campaign goals and overall brand standards
  • Support all paid and contra-based marketing relationships with third-party vendors
  • Grow our fan base within identified target segments and execute targeted campaigns to improve overall affinity and loyalty
  • Manage the clear and timely reporting of performance metrics across all marketing platforms (both traditional and digital mediums)
  • Collect data on all current and prospective ticket buyers to improve, personalize, and streamline the communication to all STM and ticket buyers
  • Propose new, innovative ideas and identify/evaluate third-party vendors that address gaps in the business and lead integration of these solutions into daily operations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years' experience in strategic leadership of sales & marketing teams; experience within sports marketing and community initiatives preferred
  • Experience with digital analytics tools including Google Analytics, Omniture etc.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to work closely and cooperatively with internal and external clients at all levels
  • Experience leading a team – strategic direction, focusing effort, and driving passion & motivation towards the realization of department goals and objectives
  • Highly-organized and detail-oriented individual with outstanding administrative and time management skills
  • Experience compiling reports and giving presentations to senior executives
  • Skills driving both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to improve overall customer experiences
