Are you an IT leader with an agile mindset and DevOps experience who is passionate about delivering value to your clients? Are you comfortable working with executives, business stakeholders, and technologists? We are looking for a Manager, Development and Operations to manage the day-to-day development and operational activities within the Innovation & Technology (I&T) Division at WorkSafeBC.

In this role, you'll work under the direction of the I&T Director of Enterprise Development and Operations (EDO) and will be responsible for program delivery, business applications development, and operational stability of province-wide 24x7 business applications. You will promote and implement processes that leverage cloud and automation, ensuring security is foundational in solution delivery.

What you'll do

1. Collaborate with leadership and teams to define and implement quality, secure applications, and modernization strategies aligned with business goals.
2. Provide oversight and support to programs, enabling teams to achieve their objectives.
3. Optimize cloud services for cost, automation, and performance, adapting to business needs.
4. Identify and mitigate risks and problems using innovative, data-driven solutions.
5. Work with leadership to develop strategic goals and roadmaps based on industry and organizational priorities.
6. Build relationships with business partners to ensure alignment of priorities and stability.
7. Ensure system reliability and performance through collaboration with SRE teams, focusing on observability, incident management, and automation.
8. Improve processes with various teams, managing technical debt and prioritizing modernization efforts.
9. Assist in budget planning, monitor expenditures, including Azure cloud costs.
10. Monitor issues and technical debts, guiding modernization efforts to reduce support efforts.
11. Manage staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure effective service delivery.
12. Represent the Director when needed.

• Strong technical foundation in Cloud Computing (Azure) and software delivery.
• Experience managing medium to large teams.
• Knowledge of Azure, Agile, DevOps, and SAFe, with the ability to adapt delivery approaches.
• A passion for continuous improvement and stakeholder support.
• Leadership skills in managing staff, budgets, and organizational goals.

Your background and experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of management experience.
• Azure, Agile, DevOps, and SAFe certifications are assets.
